Recipe: fermented corn dough porridge (Mori kooko/Koko)


  • Milled corn (fermented)
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Roasted peanuts (Optional)
  • Grains of Selim, see picture below (Optional)


  • Dissolve the dough in cold water, make sure it’s lump free
  • Sieve the mixture (Optional), add salt
  • Put your mixture on medium heat, stir constantly and gently till it boils.
  • Allow it boil for 3 minutes.

Serve with the roasted peanuts, milk, bread or bofrot.
